"Inspiration surrounds us from day to day and I am lucky to have lived in Cornwall for 4 years whilst gaining my degree at Falmouth University. More recently gaining experience overseas and spending time with Mills in India- a day has not gone by without a beautiful imprint left on the mind. I find inspiration through nature especially within the seasons and botanics. I also like to focus on the times gone by. I have a keen interest in historical textiles particularly of the 18th century and art history; often taking inspiration and colour reference from fine art masters such as Monet, De Heem, Turner and Hogarth.
I create mood boards and use the walls of the space I work in as visual stimulants - constantly changing and pinning up pictures and textures that inspire my current project. I enjoy working in creative and informative environments. I take research from first hand experiences such as visits to museums, national trust sites, gardens and travel. I also use books, journals and the internet to support the research development of each project." - Jodie
